There are a few ways to take a screenshot on a Chromebook.
Keyboard shortcut:
- Press theÂ
Ctrl
 andÂShow windows
 keys at the same time. - Press theÂ
F5
 key.
This will take a screenshot of the entire screen.
Screen capture tool:
- Click the time in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Click theÂ
Screen capture
 button. - Select the type of screenshot you want to take:
- Full screen:Â This will take a screenshot of the entire screen.
- Partial screen:Â This will allow you to select a specific area of the screen to screenshot.
- Window:Â This will take a screenshot of the currently active window.
External keyboard:
If you’re using an external keyboard, you can use the following keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot:
- Press theÂ
Ctrl
 andÂShift
 keys at the same time. - Press theÂ
F5
 key.
This will take a screenshot of the entire screen.
Once you’ve taken a screenshot, it will be saved to your Files app. You can then edit, share, or delete the screenshot as needed.

- You can use theÂ
Space
 bar to change the size of the area you’re selecting when taking a partial screenshot. - You can use theÂ
Tab
 key to cycle through the different elements on the screen when taking a partial screenshot. - To cancel taking a screenshot, press theÂ
