- 100% acetone nail polish remover
- Cotton balls or pads
- Aluminum foil or nail clips
- Orange stick or cuticle pusher
- Nail buffer
Instructions:
- File down the top layer of the acrylic nails. This will help the acetone penetrate the acrylic and dissolve it more quickly.
- Soak cotton balls or pads in acetone and place them on top of each nail.
- Wrap each finger in aluminum foil or use nail clips to secure the cotton balls in place.
- Let the acetone soak for 30 minutes, or until the acrylic has softened and become loose.
- Remove the aluminum foil or nail clips and gently scrape off the softened acrylic with an orange stick or cuticle pusher.
- If there is any remaining acrylic, soak your nails in acetone for another 10-15 minutes and repeat step 5.
- Once all of the acrylic has been removed, buff your nails with a nail buffer to remove any remaining residue.
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to remove any acetone.
- Apply a moisturizer to your hands and nails to hydrate them.
Tips:
- To speed up the removal process, you can warm up the acetone before using it.
- Be careful not to scrape your natural nails with the orange stick or cuticle pusher.
- If your skin is sensitive to acetone, you can wear gloves while removing your acrylic nails.
- You can also remove acrylic nails at a nail salon.
